My earliest paintings are very detailed with a narrow range of colour closely representing the more realistic aspects of the landscape.  I became known locally for the detailed realistic approach.  In some later works, you will see less detail with shapes of colours and often bolder skies all of which portray a mood, feeling or other connection I got on site.  More recently, I have merged the earlier aspects of my work, balancing detail with shapes of colour and form where I felt it was most appropriate for the feeling I got on site and back in the studio.  I wanted to present the special connections I was left with as part of the experience I got from the subject.
