Utah Series (2018)

This series is from a trip to Zion and Bryce National Parks in Utah in the spring of 2007.  The inspiration for this series came from the striking majestic cliffs and mountains that almost erupted from the arid terrain below. It left me with the same feeling as my first close encounter with the Alberta Rockies several decades earlier.

Most recently this Utah trip provided me with an opportunity to explore more colours with the reds, oranges, yellows and blues I pick out of the landscape from this area. 

The desert atmosphere’s influence on the colours is something I will continue to explore in other paintings for this series.
