Alberta Series (1999-2018)

Work in this series spans several years and is of one of my favourite places, the Alberta Rockies around Banff National Park. Three commercial galleries picked up some of these early works – one gallery in Banff, another in Canmore, and a Resort in Waterton National Park.  Several of this series have either been sold or donated over the years prompting a renewed interest to add more in 2018 and 2019.

Logan’s Pass (2014) was created several years after one of the trips from about 2003. The painting incorporates my interests in Japanese gardening and bonsai as captured in the windswept form of trees in front of and to one side of the mountain.  This is what drew me to the particular vantage point and what I was most interested in capturing in the painting.
